Job Description

Here at Auckland Transport we are taking Auckland's transport system into the future, connecting our city to give kiwi's easy journeys.

As Auckland has grown, so has our need for property outcomes to enable the delivery of specialist and complex transport facilities for our communities that maximise asset utilisation and value for Auckland City.

We are responsible for buying land for those transport facilities, and our Property Acquisition team work directly with landowners to ensure that compensation is negotiated fairly in the interests of both ratepayers and those affected landowners.

Due to internal promotions we have a number of property roles within our teams. 

What opportunities do we have here at Auckland Transport?

  • Property Advisor: providing high quality technical property advice to Auckland Transport's internal teams, CCO's and the public with regard to the road corridor.
  • Property Specialist: provide professional in house property advice and strategic input into all aspects of property (ideally 2+ years experience)
  • Principal Property Specialist: leading the development of strategic input into all aspects of property, in particular acquisition and negotiation as well as procurement and project management (ideally 8+ years of experience)

What sort of backgrounds are we looking for? 

  • A tertiary qualification in Property, Law, Valuation or Business would be ideal
  • Experience in property acquisition within the public sector and working with the Public Works Act would be beneficial but not necessary
  • For Senior Roles - ideally an understanding of procurement and project management principles and practices and commercial acumen and understanding of valuation methodologies and processes
  • Results orientated and for senior roles - ideally recognised as a subject matter expert in the property industry
