Job Description

Align is a multi-disciplinary consultancy with offices in Auckland, Hamilton, Northland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Wairarapa and Christchurch. We provide accredited Crown and property services, planning, landscape architecture, urban design, geographical information systems and project management services. These services are provided to central and local government, network utility operators, infrastructure providers, developers, and commercial and private clients.

With an exciting and varied forward programme of nationally significant projects, we now require a Property Consultant to work from our Hamilton office. The role will suit someone with 3+ years post-graduate experience and who has extensive knowledge of local authorities and/or Crown property. The position reports to the Waikato Manager - Property.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Property acquisition, disposal, legalisation and advisory services
  • Stakeholder engagement and negotiations
  • Management of individual projects and programmes
  • Preparing property-related strategies and other documentation
  • Providing property advice
  • Auditing and upkeep of property databases and systems
  • Project coordination, tracking and reporting
  • Property settlement coordination

The skills and attributes needed for this role:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in property
  • Experience in acquisition, disposal or legalisation of land
  • Knowledge on the Public Works Act 1981, and/or Local Government Act
  • Ability to engage and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Exceptional relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • A propensity for teamwork and willingness to go the extra mile
  • Attention to detail in your work and a high level of accuracy
  • Knowledge of project management tools and software (training is provided)
  • Trustworthy & discreet behaviour with confidential information
