The property function within the Council continues its positive change to enhance the way property assets are managed and maintained, with strategic asset management and property management now managed within the one team.  This new model enables more proactive strategy development, greater operational efficiencies and an improved customer experience through end to end management of the property portfolio. This is an opportunity to continue the improvement journey on how asset management will evolve within this local government environment.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity where you can make a huge impact.  We’re looking for an energetic manager to support and develop the team, refresh processes and ways of working and provide strategic and technical property expertise, especially in asset management, to maximise the benefits of the change and deliver strong outcomes for the Council and the community.

To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience in property services and exposure to quality asset management practices across property/the asset lifecycle, with particular strengths in built assets.  Ideally, you’ll have experience in local government and understand the political nuance.  You’ll be an excellent people leader with proven experience developing happy and high-performing teams.  Collaborating and influencing in style, you’ll be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage diverse and complex stakeholder relationships. You will be commercially curious about property and particularly asset management planning and optimisation practices.

 

Essential will be a tertiary qualification in a related property field (property management, valuation, commerce, etc) and sound knowledge of relevant legislation (Public Works Act, Reserves Act, LG Act, Property Law Act).
