About us

At the NZ Transport Agency, it all starts with our people. The organisation's performance and success depends on the people who choose to make this a great place to work and make a difference for New Zealand. The Transport Agency has a strong future focus, understanding that new technologies and changing customer expectations mean the transport system we know today will not be the one we deliver in ten years' time.

The Corporate Services group provides the essential expert support services that enable the Transport Agency to run efficiently and achieve organisational excellence. Property Services sits in our Corporate Services group of specialist teams: Legal, Risk and Assurance, Technology and Property Services.

This Property role will be pivotal in helping us manage our State Highway and Corporate property functions.

The role

Join us and take a National role with a leadership focus.  As the Principal Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting delivery of our Property framework across the agency.  You will bring both your commercial and political nous, taking the views of stakeholders and coordinating those views back so draft guidelines or policy can be drafted and tested.

You will be part of the management team, keeping abreast of legislative changes and keeping an eye out for the changing landscape.  You will brief senior management on the state of property, any risks and you will lead engagement on many issues.  This is a front facing role where you will be accountable for getting to the heart of issues and information and forming views on behalf of the Agency.

What you will bring

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A deep knowledge and understanding of commercial property principles
  • A strong understanding of relevant legislation
  • Experience in Policy development and implementation
  • Exposure to policy and experience in writing policy
  • Strong commercial nous
  • The ability to work at a senior level and take others on a journey
  • Strong Evaluation and Property knowledge
  • Relevant Tertiary Property Qualifications

If you are keen to managed one of the largest property portfolios in New Zealand and want a role where you have influence, then we would like to hear from you.
