This role is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract covering maternity leave.  You will be a senior member of the property team that, together acts as a trusted advisory and execution team on all property related matters for New Zealand business units.  The Senior Property Asset Manager will support the Head of Property NZ in delivering strategic framework ensuring best practice Property Manager across Fletcher Building's portfolio by implementing a property management improvement strategy.  This role will also have direct ongoing responsibility for the optimal day to day commercial property management of that portfolio, including shaping the portfolio to align with corporate and business unit strategies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership including support, feedback, coaching and development to enable team members to perform to their maximum potential.
  • Assisting in the development of property strategy across NZ, ensuring that this aligns to both Group and Divisional business unit strategies and plans
  • Manage a diverse property portfolio across numerous business units ensuring that property practices, regulations and legislation are observed and adhered to.
  • Assist in any major projects or activities as required by the business
  • Actively demonstrate safe work processes and behaviours and ensure these are followed by all employees and contractors in their place of work.


To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following behaviours and skills:

  • The ability to multi-task and manage a multitude of simultaneous transactions
  • Scoping commercial and legal aspects of property transactions and property projects
  • Delivering of enhances value from our existing portfolio of leasehold and freehold property land development
  • Tertiary qualification, preferably in the property profession
  • At least six years experience in property
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to positively manage external relationships


About You
With a professional qualification in Property, you will have a background in property management, ideally in a commercial or industrial capacity.  You will have a thorough understanding of lease negotiations and rent reviews and a proven ability to establish positive, construction internal and external relationships.  Your ability to influence outcomes will be the key to your success and you will be driven, enthusiastic and passionate about progressing your career.
