Established in 1998, Tainui Group Holdings (TGH) is the commercial entity of Waikato-Tainui. As kaitiaki of the commercial assets our focus is to create inter-generational economic wealth for our iwi through a diversified investment portfolio. Distributions from TGH fund tribal development and support programmes including education, employment, financial literacy, housing, health, kaumaatua wellbeing, culture and heritage, and river and environmental protection.
As kaitiaki (guardians) of the Waikato-Tainui commercial interests, we focus on growing puutea, turanga mahi and whenua – profit, jobs and land – for the people of Waikato-Tainui and our region, for generations to come. We believe strong partnerships are key to achieving results for over 78,000 Waikato-Tainui tribal members, creating prosperity, while also supporting social and cultural outcomes.
TGH takes a long-term, disciplined approach to creating tribal wealth, through diversification, discipline, and strong governance. Our role requires us to concentrate on a diversified portfolio that includes Real Estate, Natural Resources, Infrastructure, Private Equities and Global Equities.
